Career gap -advices and its implications in Job opportunities

Candidate 's qualifications:
UG -1998 and PG -2008 (through correspondence)
Working in Job started only after 2004(due to marriage and personal reasons) and it is continuing till date
1. will this career gap be a major problem?
2. Objections from the employer and regarding unqualified for jobs in CMMI level companies
