IIM-C exec course grads get placements with top cos
Students of IIM Calcutta’s one-year post-graduate programme for executives for visionary leadership in manufacturing (PGPEX-VLM) have completed their placements with a top salary of Rs 18 lakh per annum. The batch of 32, which was drawing an average salary of Rs 7.5 lakh per annum prior to joining the programme, has seen a 51.6% increase in average salary levels to Rs 11.37 lakh after its completion.
All the 28 self-sponsored students of the programme have been placed in leading manufacturing organisations like Crompton, McNally Bharat, Cummins, Hewlett-Packard, JSW, VNL (Gurgaon), TVS Motor, PwC, Ashok Leyland, Vedanta, Adani Power, PM Dimension, John Deer Equipment, ACC, L&T InfoTech and Torrent Power. Four students were sponsored by organisations like TRF, Sail, Bokaro Steel Plant and Maruti Suzuki India.
“Out of 29 offers, two international offers came from Kolkata-based McNally Bharat Engineering for their Germany operations,” PGPEX-VLM chairman MN Pal told ET. Five offers came from consulting firms and the rest across sectors.
The PGPEX-VLM programme, jointly conducted by IIM-C, IIT-K and IIT-M, is designed to create visionary leaders in the manufacturing sector under the aegis of NMCC, MHRD and Government of India, with active co-operation from Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and support from CII. The second batch of students had an average work experience of around 8 years in the manufacturing sector.
