Accentia bags $22 mn order; to hire 5,000 next year
17 Dec 2008 Mumbai: Healthcare solutions provider Accentia Technologies on Wednesday said it has bagged an order worth 22 million dollars (about Rs 104
crore) to provide services to a chain of hospitals in the US.
The order pertains to the healthcare receivables cycle management arena, which includes medical transcription, coding, billing and collections, the company said in a filing to the Bombay Stock Exchange.
The order would enable Accentia to add 1,800 positions for each shift of the total three, within the next year, which would result in hiring more than 5,000 people in the coming fiscal.
"Accentia will be adding 1,800 seats before December 2009 at its Bangalore, Trivandrum, Hyderabad, Cochin and Bhubaneshwar units. The 1,800 seats (5,400 seats in 3 shifts) would enable Accentia hire 5,000 new recruits in FY`09-10," it said in the filing.
The company, which currently has 4,000 employees, would also streamline its workforce and migrate jobs offshore to India and Philippines, the filing added.
In November, the company said in a regulatory filing that it was adding 1,000 seats in Vizag and Bhubeneshwar in view of growing demand in the healthcare outsourcing services.
Shares of the company were trading at Rs 125.25, down by 0.52 per cent in the afternoon trade on the BSE.
