a) Responsible for the development and maintenance of in-house Software and web and intranet based applications.
b) Have expertise in coding and scripted systems in the following Java, ASP.net, C, C++ VB.net, Pearle, AJAX or any other appropriate technology.
c) Working with Head of IT, India IT Manager and Senior Software Developer, Director of Business Transformation to ensure high quality applications are developed and delivered to accurate specification, time and budget.
d) Ensuring design and specification documentation is accurate
e) Maintaining version and quality control standards and documentation
f) Developing manuals and help documentation for end users. Training end-users where appropriate.
g) Working with the Nair & Co DBA to ensure proper, change control, code release, UAT and regression testing is carried out.
h) Working with MySQL and MS SQL Server 2000 and 2005.
i) Working with the infrastructure and IT Support teams where possible to automate network administrative tasks.
j) Ensure industry standard methodologies are used to document the development process.
k) Ensure that work is backed up and Nair & Co IP is protected at all times.
l) Advise on, design and develop applications which are inherently secure at all times.
m) Assist the internal support teams to diagnose advanced 2nd and 3rd line application level issues.
n) Liaising with third party vendors to provide support for existing applications when necessary.
o) Advising and Liaising with internal team members. Providing advice, regular updates and project update reports.
p) Work with the DBA and Senior Software developer to design and provide BI (business intelligence) type reports to managers, directors and other executives.
q) Liaise with the systems accountants, vendors, IT colleagues and managers to achieve the desired results.
r) Advise on version upgrades and security updates when required
s) Test various internal applications and commercial apps
t) Work with the DBA to design backup and continuity procedures and strategies
u) Assist in data management processes across third party applications
v) Take part in training activities
w) Assist in first line support activities whenever required to support both the local and Global IT support team.
